Men's suits come in letter sizes, and the short and tall cuts (MS, MT, LT, XLS) change the body length, not the girth: a tall surfer of medium build takes an MT rather than an L, so the suit fits at the chest without folds at the knees. Women's suits use US dress sizes, 2 to 16, with the UK number two higher, and the same S and T cuts on some lines. Kids' sizes run by age, with T sizes for toddlers. Fit beats thickness: a suit should be snug with no gap at the neck, wrists or lower back and no fold behind the knee.
